Food Manufacturing | 6-Month Full-Time Temporary Role | Dandenong
$35 per hour

A large and expanding food manufacturing business is seeking mechanically minded Trade Assistants to support their maintenance team during significant plant upgrades and increased maintenance activity.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has strong mechanical aptitude, and is confident supporting skilled tradespeople in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Maintenance Fitters with preventative and reactive maintenance
  
• Support installation and upgrade of plant equipment and conveyors
  
• Assist with mechanical repairs, assembly, and component replacement
  
• Perform general mechanical support tasks across the site
  
• Work safely at heights including elevated platforms and roof spaces
  
• Maintain safe and clean work areas
  
• Support shutdown and project work as required
  

Skills & Experience

• Mechanical aptitude or previous experience in a trade or industrial environment
  
• Valid Working at Heights certification (essential)
  
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
  
• Strong work ethic and reliability
  
• Ability to follow instructions and work within a team
  
• Manufacturing or maintenance environment exposure highly regarded
